In a significant move on International Women’s Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a substantial reduction in the prices of LPG cylinders by ₹100. The decision, aimed at alleviating the financial burden on households, particularly benefiting women, was shared by the Prime Minister on the microblogging platform X.
PM Modi expressed that the price cut, effective immediately, is a testament to the government’s commitment to empowering women, acknowledging their invaluable contribution, or ‘Nari Shakti,’ to society. By making cooking gas more affordable, the government aims to enhance the overall well-being of families and contribute to a healthier environment.
The Prime Minister took to social media, stating, “Today, on Women’s Day, our Government has decided to reduce LPG cylinder prices by ₹100. This will significantly ease the financial burden on millions of households across the country, especially benefiting our Nari Shakti.” He emphasized that this step aligns with the government’s broader mission of ensuring ‘Ease of Living’ for women.
Following the price adjustment, consumers in Delhi will now be able to purchase a cylinder at ₹803, providing substantial relief to households grappling with rising living costs. Additionally, beneficiaries under the Ujwala scheme will enjoy an even more affordable rate, acquiring a cylinder at ₹503.
This move comes as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to support citizens and enhance their quality of life. By addressing the affordability of essential commodities like LPG, the government seeks to positively impact the daily lives of its citizens, with a particular focus on women and their pivotal role in households. As the reduced prices take effect, the initiative will likely bring relief to numerous households across the country, embodying the spirit of International Women’s Day.
