In a monumental move aimed at revolutionizing India’s infrastructure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a staggering 112 National Highway projects worth approximately Rs 1 lakh crore. This initiative, spread across the country, marks a significant step towards enhancing connectivity and bolstering economic growth.
Accompanied by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, PM Modi inspected the model of the Dwarka Expressway, a pivotal project in the development agenda. Dwarka Expressway, aimed at alleviating congestion between Delhi and Gurugram on NH-48, received special attention during the Prime Minister’s visit.
Interacting with construction workers at the site of the Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram, PM Modi underscored the importance of their role in driving Bharat’s infrastructure ambitions forward. The exchange highlighted the government’s commitment to engaging with grassroots stakeholders in the nation-building process.
The inauguration of the Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway, spanning 19 kilometers and constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 4,100 crore, stands out as a significant milestone. This section comprises two packages, facilitating smoother connectivity between Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) and Basai ROB to Kherki Daula. The expressway promises to streamline traffic flow and provide direct access to key destinations like the IGI Airport in Delhi and the Gurugram Bypass.
Among the array of projects inaugurated, the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) in Delhi, Lucknow Ring Road in Uttar Pradesh, NH16 in Andhra Pradesh, NH-21 in Himachal Pradesh, and NH in Karnataka are noteworthy. These initiatives, with investments totaling billions, are poised to reshape transportation networks and bolster regional development across the country.
Simultaneously, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for various National Highway projects, symbolizing the government’s unwavering commitment to infrastructure development. Notable projects include the Bengaluru-Kadappa-Vijayawada Expressway in Andhra Pradesh, Belgaum-Hungund-Raichur Section in Karnataka, Shamli-Ambala Highway in Haryana, and Amritsar-Bathinda corridor in Punjab, among others.
These groundbreaking endeavors are set to catalyze socio-economic growth, generate employment opportunities, and foster trade and commerce in regions spanning the length and breadth of the country.
