Late Monday night witnessed a dramatic encounter between the Delhi Police and members of the notorious Hashim Baba gang near Ambedkar College in Northeast Delhi. The clash unfolded near Gokulpuri Metro Station, leaving three gang members injured and subsequently arrested. Additionally, two police officers sustained minor injuries during the exchange of gunfire.
The injured gang members, known as Ali alias Fahadh, Asif alias Khalid, and Alsejan alias Thotha, have been identified and apprehended by law enforcement. Following the encounter, they were promptly admitted to a local hospital for medical treatment.

This confrontation comes in the wake of a shooting incident on March 9, during which a man named Arbaaz was killed, and another individual sustained injuries. The trio apprehended in the recent encounter was wanted in connection with this earlier crime.
North East Deputy Commissioner of Police, Joy Tirkey, provided insights into the encounter, stating, “Our special staff received information regarding the movement of people involved in the firing incident in Seelampur two days ago. Today’s encounter took place at around 1:30 am. We tried to stop them, but they opened fire at the police. Today, around 23-24 shots were fired from both sides. The three have been identified, and all three have cases against them.”
Tirkey further elaborated on the Seelampur shooting incident, mentioning, “A firing incident occurred in Seelampur two days ago in which a man named Arbaaz was killed and one was injured. The reason for the Seelampur incident was not clear. We had registered a case of murder and attempted murder.” Investigations into both the Seelampur shooting incident and the recent encounter are ongoing.

During the exchange of gunfire, several shots were fired from both sides, resulting in the three accused sustaining bullet injuries to their legs. Presently, the injured gang members are in police custody and will face legal proceedings. Meanwhile, the two injured police officers are receiving medical attention for their minor injuries.
