On Wednesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party released its second list of 72 candidates from across 11 states for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Manohar Lal Khattar who resigned as the chief minister of Haryana on Tuesday, will contest the elections from Karnal constituency.
Union minister Piyush Goyal has been fielded from Mumbai North and Anurag Thakur from Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh.
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha chief Tejasvi Surya will contest from Bangalore South and the party’s national secretary from Maharashtra’s Beed, which has been her family’s stronghold.
Nitin Gadkari will contest from Nagpur, while former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has been fielded from Haveri.
On March 2, The BJP released its first list of 195 candidates from 16 states and two Union Territories (UT), fielding Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and Home Minister Amit Shah from Gandhinagar in Gujarat.
The first list includes 34 Union ministers and two former chief ministers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of 370 seats for the party on its own and 400 plus for its NDA coalition
