In a startling development, a superfast train derailed near Madar railway station in Rajasthan’s Ajmer district late last night. According to officials, the incident occurred around 1:00 am, causing significant disruption to the Sabarmati-Agra superfast train service.
Reports indicate that four coaches, along with the engine, veered off the tracks near Madar railway station, prompting an immediate response from rescue teams. Despite the severity of the derailment, fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported.
Passengers onboard the ill-fated train recounted the harrowing experience, stating that they were jolted awake by a loud noise while sleeping. Rescue efforts swiftly commenced, with teams including the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) mobilizing to the scene.
Railway PRO Shashi Kiran confirmed the absence of casualties and assured ongoing efforts to restore normalcy. “Our team is diligently working on site to restore operations. Senior officials are closely monitoring the situation, and we’ve established a helpline (01452429642) for any assistance,” Kiran affirmed.
