The Taliban retaliated to the air strikes in its territory by Pakistan along the border.
According to media reports, ‘Over three Pakistani soldiers were injured after artillery fire by Taliban fighters in Burki along the Durand Line, the Pakistan-Afghanistan border’.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan released an official statement in response to the attacks by Pakistan in Paktika and Khost provinces.
The statement read, ‘IEA-MoFA reminds Pakistan that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has long experience in fighting for freedom against world superpowers, and under no circumstances can tolerate aggression on its soil’.
The Taliban also urged the newly-formed Pakistani government to not allow irresponsible actions and misguided policies to endanger relations between the two neighbouring countries.
‘Five women and three children were killed in the eastern border provinces of Khost and Paktika’, said Taliban spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid.
‘Abdullah Shah, a commander of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was killed in the twin airstrikes by Pakistan in Afghan territory’, according to the media reports.
Later the commander released a video claiming he is in South Waziristan and is continuing his activities there.
