Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have reported an ongoing operation at Shifa Hospital in Gaza aimed at clearing out Hamas terrorists. According to IDF statements on Thursday morning, 50 terrorists were killed in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to over 140 since the operation began on Monday. An additional 160 terror suspects have been arrested and taken for further questioning in Israel. Despite the military action, civilians and hospital staff have not been harmed, and medical equipment remains undamaged.
The raid on Shifa, Gaza’s largest hospital, was initiated after Israeli intelligence indicated the presence of senior Hamas figures planning attacks from within the compound. Upon arrival, IDF encountered resistance from Hamas terrorists firing from inside the medical center. Among those killed during the operation was Faiq Mabhuoh, head of Hamas’s Operations Directorate for Internal Security, who was responsible for coordinating terrorist activities in the Gaza Strip. Weapons were also seized from the compound.
Reports from the Tazpit Press Service reveal that Hamas has extensively utilized Shifa Hospital for illicit purposes, including launching rockets, hiding hostages, torturing collaborators, and constructing tunnels. Israel has released evidence, including recordings of phone calls, indicating Hamas’s storage of significant quantities of fuel beneath the hospital compound.
In addition to the operation at Shifa Hospital, Israeli forces have conducted operations in other areas of Gaza. In central Gaza, approximately 20 terrorists were killed, while in the Al-Qarara neighborhood of Khan Yunis, Hamas infrastructure, including a launch pit, was destroyed.
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has resulted in significant casualties and damage. In a recent attack on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on October 7, at least 1,200 people were killed, and 240 Israelis and foreigners were taken hostage. Israel has confirmed the deaths of 31 hostages, with 134 still unaccounted for. The situation remains tense as military operations continue in the region.
