Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Prasun Banerjee from Howrah Lok Sabha constituency has been seen in a video where he is making objectionable comments about two communities, comparing their existence.
Prasun Banerjee has been alleged to be saying in the video, “Who are these so-called Hindus? Muslims came 800 years ago. There were no Hindus back then. They didn’t exist during the reign of Taimur and Babur. The concept of Hindus only emerged 300-400 years ago.
”The video has been posted on X by BJP West Bengal @BJP4Bengal with the statement: “This disregard for historical facts and inflammatory language, are unacceptable. His assertion that Hindus did not exist until a few centuries ago and dismissing their historical presence during significant periods is not only historically inaccurate but also incendiary.
