The Islamic State group has taken accountability for an assault on a concert hall in suburban Moscow, resulting in the deaths of at least 133 people, marking it the deadliest incident in Russia as of now.
Despite claims from the United States about the evidence supporting the jihadists’ involvement, both Moscow and Kyiv engaged in mutual accusations on Saturday amidst the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The video viral on a Telegram account believed to be linked with Amaq, the news outlet linked to IS, according to the SITE monitoring group.
According to the reports of ‘The Spectator Index’, ISIS released bodycam footage of the Moscow terrorist attack.
Few replied with the videos in the comment section. ‘Pre-planned action, terrorists using advanced technology’, said another user. Another user wrote, ‘So ISIS is really taking responsibility for this gruesome act’.
According to the media reports, ‘lasting ninety seconds, depicts various individuals with unclear faces and distorted voices, displaying assault rifles and knives. It appears to be set in the lobby of the Crocus City Hall concert venue in Krasnogorsk, located northwest of Moscow.
The attackers can be seen firing multiple bursts of gunfire, while inert bodies are dispersed across the scene.
According to the media reports, in their Saturday statement, they said the attack had come in “the natural framework” of the ongoing war between the extremist group and countries they accuse of fighting Islam.
Islamic State (IS), a branch arising from al-Qaida, gained control over parts of Iraq and Syria in 2014. During this time, it began a brutal campaign attacking the Yazidis, a religious minority residing in northern Iraq, along with other communities.
