Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba is gearing up for a two-day visit to Bharat, focusing on bolstering bilateral relations and collaboration on regional and global matters of mutual concern. His trip, scheduled to commence on Thursday, comes at the invitation of Bharat’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
During his stay, Kuleba will hold crucial discussions with Jaishankar and also meet with Deputy National Security Advisor Vikram Misri. The agenda includes various engagements aimed at deepening the partnership between the two nations and addressing shared challenges on the regional and global fronts, as highlighted in a statement by the Ministry of External Affairs.
In addition to diplomatic talks, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister is slated to engage with the Bharatiya business community, fostering economic ties alongside political cooperation. This visit follows a recent phone conversation between Bharatiya Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, underscoring the importance of further enhancing the India-Ukraine partnership across multiple sectors.
During their dialogue, Prime Minister Modi reiterated Bharat’s people-centric approach and advocated for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict peacefully. Emphasizing Bharat’s support for efforts towards a swift resolution, he affirmed the nation’s commitment to contributing to a peaceful outcome through all available means.
President Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for Bharat’s continued humanitarian aid to Ukraine, reflecting the solidarity between the two countries during challenging times. Moreover, Prime Minister Modi had a separate conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the same day, extending congratulations on his re-election while reiterating Bharat’s stance favoring dialogue and diplomacy to address the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
