In a significant move, Maruti Suzuki, Bharat’s leading car manufacturer, has approved a series of senior management changes, set to take effect from April 1st. The company’s Chief Technology Officer, C V Raman, and Shashank Srivastava, currently Head of Marketing and Sales, have been appointed as members of the Executive Committee.
The restructuring also involves Tarun Aggarwal, who will now lead Engineering, and Partho Banerjee, who will take charge of Marketing and Sales. Aggarwal, with an impressive 34 years of experience at Maruti, brings a wealth of knowledge from his previous role as Head of the Powertrain vertical. His extensive background spans various engineering domains, including Electrical and Product Planning.
Sandeep Raina, currently serving as Executive Vice President, will oversee Product Planning, transitioning from his previous role in Product Development and Cost & Program Management. With over 30 years at Maruti, Raina’s expertise, coupled with his engineering degree from IIT Roorkee and an MBA from MDI Gurgaon, positions him well for this new responsibility.
Banerjee, who has dedicated 34 years to Maruti, will bring his experience from various verticals within the company to his new role in Marketing and Sales. His tenure includes stints in Sales, Marketing, and Production Engineering, offering a holistic understanding of the automotive landscape.
Joining the lineup is Ram Suresh Akella, who will helm the Marketing vertical, leveraging his 31 years of diverse experience at Maruti. Akella’s previous roles include Sales and Network Head at Arena channel, as well as Commercial Business head of the South region, showcasing his versatile skill set.
Additionally, Sandeep Raina will lead Product Planning, while Ram Suresh Akella will take charge of Service. Sunil Kakkar will transition his role as head of the supply chain to Deepak Thukral, and Rahul Bharti will assume the responsibilities of head of corporate affairs.
These strategic changes in Maruti’s management aim to optimize operations, enhance customer experience, and drive innovation in the ever-evolving automotive industry.
