In a significant matter for the Bharatiya Janata Party or BJP, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu is set to secure an uncontested victory in the Mukto Assembly constituency, adding to the growing tally of the party candidates securing unopposed wins in the State.
The absence of Opposition candidates in key districts, notably Papum Pare, suggests a trend favouring the ruling party, potentially leading to a sweeping victory.
Noteworthy among the contenders is Er Ratu Techi from Sagalee, who is set to clinch an uncontested win. With no Opposition candidates stepping forward before the nomination deadline, the BJP is positioned for a clean sweep in constituencies like Mukto and Sagalee.
Further strengthening the BJP’s stronghold is the uncontested candidacy of Er Hage Appa from Ziro in the Lower Subansiri district.
The latest updates reveal a total of five candidates securing uncontested victories, including Jikke Tako from Tali, Nyato Dukom from Taliha, Ratu Techi from Sagalee, and Mutchu Mithi from Roing Assembly constituencies.
Former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, who has served for three decades as an MLA from Sagalee, has opted to contest parliamentary elections this time, filing his nomination from Aalo.
While Pema Khandu’s uncontested win in Arunachal Pradesh awaits official confirmation, the BJP’s dominance in the State appears to be on an upward trajectory.
