In a recent poll rally in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing it of losing faith in democracy and attempting to destabilize Bharat. Modi claimed that the Congress is advocating for anarchy and instability, citing a recent incident in Karnataka where a Congress leader suggested dividing the country into two parts.
The Prime Minister’s remarks were in response to statements made by Karnataka Congress MP DK Suresh, who advocated for a separate country for Southern Bharat due to alleged insufficient funds from the Centre. Despite such provocative statements, Suresh received a Congress ticket for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, prompting criticism from Modi.

Modi further emphasized that the Congress, despite being out of power for only 10 years, has already resorted to discussing “igniting fire in India.” He urged the public to hold such individuals accountable and prevent their participation in the upcoming elections. The Prime Minister appealed for a resounding mandate for the BJP to prevent such divisive ideologies from gaining ground.
Seeking a historic third term for the BJP at the Centre, Modi highlighted the developmental initiatives undertaken by his government in Uttarakhand. He emphasized the positive outcomes that result from the right intent, signaling the BJP’s commitment to the state’s progress under its rule.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami echoed Modi’s sentiments, accusing the Congress of repeatedly failing in its attempts to launch Rahul Gandhi into prominence. Dhami criticized the Congress for diverting attention from allegations of corruption against opposition leaders by targeting the Prime Minister.
The BJP currently holds all five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand, and Modi’s visit was followed by BJP president JP Nadda’s scheduled appearances on April 3. Nadda is set to address gatherings in Pithoragarh and Vikasnagar, along with holding a roadshow in Haridwar on April 4.
Key BJP candidates for the upcoming elections include Ajay Tamta from Almora, Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah from Tehri, and former chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat from Haridwar. Polling for the five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand will take place in a single phase on April 19, with results scheduled to be declared on June 4.
