JCB, the Japanese credit card company, has launched a special website offering attractions and benefits for foreigners visiting Hokkaido, a popular destination in Japan. Hokkaido attracts about 27 million foreign visitors every year from countries like the USA, Australia, and Canada. People come to experience the unique beauty of each season and explore the rich history, vibrant handicrafts, and dynamic natural landscapes of the island. Iconic landmarks such as Goryokaku Tower are among the many attractions Hokkaido has to offer.
Yuki Saijo, an official from JCB’s Global Business Planning Department, announced that from October 2023 to March 2024, JCB collaborated with numerous member stores in Hokkaido to provide various benefits to its members. The campaign aimed to enhance the comfort and convenience of tourists’ trips. With the participation of 70 stores and 30 member stores, JCB offered special and unique services, receiving positive feedback and reputation. Saijo mentioned that JCB plans to continue offering campaigns that provide pleasant experiences for its overseas members.
Convenient transportation is essential for enjoying a tour of Hokkaido, given its diverse attractions and unpredictable weather conditions. Travelers have several transportation options available, especially from Shin Chitose Airport, the main gateway to Hokkaido, to Sapporo, the island’s largest city. Rental cars are particularly popular for tourists exploring Hokkaido, with each car equipped with snow tires as a safety measure in case of snowfall.
Additionally, one of Hokkaido’s renowned sweets, Shiroi Koibito, also known as the “white lover,” attracts many tourists to its factory. The factory has been upgraded to serve as a tourist attraction, drawing a large number of visitors who come to experience its charm firsthand.
In conclusion, JCB’s initiative to provide special benefits for foreign visitors to Hokkaido, along with the island’s diverse attractions and convenient transportation options, ensures that tourists can enjoy a memorable and comfortable experience exploring the beauty of Hokkaido.
