In a joint operation, the Bharatiya Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police successfully stopped terrorists from infiltrating along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Sabura Nala area of the Uri sector. The encounter began early in the morning when contact was made with the infiltrators, according to sources familiar with the situation.
The infiltrators engaged in firing upon being detected, prompting the soldiers to retaliate. The operation, which is still ongoing, has witnessed intense exchanges of fire between security forces and the terrorists. Reports indicate that at least one terrorist has been neutralized in the encounter.
The Chinar Corps of the Bharatiya Army later confirmed the incident, stating, “An infiltration bid on the LoC has been foiled by alert troops in the morning hours today when terrorists were trying to infiltrate through Sabura Nala, Uri Sector. One terrorist has been eliminated.”
The Uri sector, located in the northern part of Jammu and Kashmir, has been a frequent target for infiltration attempts by terrorist groups seeking to disrupt peace and stability in the region. The security forces remain vigilant in their efforts to thwart such nefarious activities and safeguard the lives of civilians in the area.
