Amidst the approaching Lok Sabha elections, a significant surge was witnessed as over 700 youths from Kokrajhar, Chirang, and Baksa districts rallied behind the United People’s Party Liberal or UPPL, led by Pramod Boro.
The enthusiastic joining ceremony took place at the youth wing office of UPPL in Kokrajhar town’s Habrubari.BTC Chief Executive Member as well as UPPL chief Pramod Boro, along with MLA Lawrence Islary and UPPL’s women’s wing leader Pratibha Brahma, extended warm greetings and honoured the new members with party scarves and traditional Aronai.
Notably, many of the newcomers were first-time voters, indicating a fresh wave of political participation among the youth. Addressing the gathering, Pramod Boro spoke about the growing momentum of youth engagement in the UPPL. He criticised the erstwhile leadership for neglecting the aspirations of the youth, highlighting UPPL’s commitment to nurturing new leaders across various domains.
Boro accentuated the party’s vision to harness the potential of young minds in encouraging regional development, advocating for their active involvement in areas like conservation, culture, sports, and entrepreneurship.Boro vehemently refuted allegations hurled by the Opposition, particularly the BPF, accusing UPPL of failing to fulfil its promises.
He talked about UPPL’s primary objectives of restoring peace and ensuring security, contrasting the prevailing tranquillity under UPPL’s governance with the turbulence of the past. Boro condemned the previous regime’s inability to safeguard citizens’ lives and liberties, citing instances of violence and journalistic suppression. He reiterated UPPL’s unwavering commitment to translating promises into tangible achievements for the betterment of the region.
