Prime Minister Narendra Modi is gearing up for a hectic campaign schedule ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. His itinerary includes addressing election rallies in several key locations, starting with Bihar’s Nawada district. This marks the beginning of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) campaign in Madhya Pradesh, where Modi will lead a roadshow in Jabalpur. Additionally, he plans to rally support in Jalpaiguri district of North Bengal.
Security measures have been intensified as Modi prepares for his second rally in Bihar. The BJP has fielded Vivek Thakur, son of senior BJP leader C P Thakur, as its candidate for the Nawada Lok Sabha constituency.
In Jabalpur, Modi’s roadshow will cover a 1.2-kilometer route, commencing from Shaheed Bhagat Singh crossing and concluding at Adi Shankaracharya crossing in Gorakhpur locality. State minister Kailash Vijayvargiya expressed anticipation for a historic event, with special arrangements including flower showers upon Modi’s convoy passing through the Gorakhpur market area.
Modi’s visit to Madhya Pradesh marks his first appearance in the state since the implementation of the model code of conduct (MCC).
In Jalpaiguri district of North Bengal, Modi will hold a public rally aiming to intensify his critique of the ruling Trinamool Congress. This comes in the wake of an attack on the National Investigation Agency (NIA) team during a raid in connection with a blast case in Purba Medinipur district. Modi emphasized the overwhelming support for BJP in West Bengal and criticized the alleged corruption and poor governance under the TMC regime.
The visit to North Bengal holds significance following a severe storm that devastated the region and parts of the Northeast. The Jalpaiguri Lok Sabha seat is scheduled for the first phase of the seven-phased Lok Sabha elections on April 19.
