Owaisi alleged receiving threats after visiting the family of deceased politician Mukhtar Ansari. Owaisi, a four-time MP from Hyderabad, raised concerns about the political atmosphere, stating that such threats are empowered by the current environment. He appealed to the Election Commission of India (ECI) to monitor the situation closely, highlighting the need for ensuring safety during the electoral process.
Hyderabad, known as an AIMIM bastion, presents a unique political landscape, with AIMIM holding sway over most assembly segments. However, BJP’s Raja Singh managed to secure the Goshamahal seat. Owaisi’s father, Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, previously represented Hyderabad in the Lok Sabha for six consecutive terms.
