Kim Jong Un, North Korean leader emphasized the significance of being ready for war amidst disturbed geopolitical conditions in his country. In his recent visit to the Kim Jong Il University of Military and Politics, Kim made the statement.
On Wednesday Kim gave field guidance at the university, named after his late father, which is termed to be the top military education institution in the country.
Kim’s visit comes at a time when North Korea has increased its weapons development efforts and strengthened ties with Russia.
As per the media reports, North Korea has supported Russia in its conflict with Ukraine in exchange for military assistance.
If the enemy opts for a military confrontation with the DPRK, the DPRK will deal a death blow to the enemy without hesitation by mobilizing all means in its possession, said Kim to the university staff and students.
DPRK is short for the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the North’s official name.
Outlining the international situation and the unstable military and political situation around the DPRK, he stated that now is the time to be more prepared for a war than ever before.
Earlier this month, Kim oversaw the test launch of a new hypersonic intermediate-range ballistic missile. This advancement, using solid fuel, is deemed more efficient than liquid-fuel options. The move is expected to bolster North Korea’s missile deployment capabilities significantly.
North Korea has also accused the US and South Korea of increasing rapidly military tensions through military exercises labelled as war maneuvers.
