Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami recently praised the significant initiatives taken by both the central and state governments, especially under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at a public address at Ramlila Maidan in Almora, Dhami highlighted various historical decisions that have been made in the interest of the nation. These include the abolition of Article 370 in Kashmir, the notification of rules for the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the abolition of Triple Talaq, and the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Additionally, he mentioned the passage of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, emphasizing the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment.
Historic Decisions for Uttarakhand
Dhami also shed light on the state government’s endeavors to improve Uttarakhand. Notably, he mentioned the passage of the Uniform Civil Code Bill, fulfilling a promise made prior to the elections.
Furthermore, he underscored the state government’s crackdown on counterfeiting through the implementation of an anti-counterfeiting law, as well as the approval of laws concerning conversions and anti-riot measures.
Additionally, Dhami announced a 30% reservation for women in government jobs, recognizing their valuable contribution to the state’s progress.
Support for BJP Candidate and Development Agenda
During the public rally, Dhami reiterated his support for BJP candidate Ajay Tamta from the Almora Lok Sabha constituency. He commended Tamta’s dedication to advancing the region’s development agenda and urged attendees to support his candidacy.
Dhami emphasized the importance of making PM Modi the Prime Minister once again, citing his leadership in propelling India’s development forward. He praised Modi’s vision for a developed India by 2047 and highlighted the global recognition of India’s progress under his leadership.
Celebrating Uttarakhand’s Cultural Heritage
Dhami also spoke about Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage and its global recognition. He mentioned the recent visit of Prime Minister Modi to the Jageshwar temple, which resulted in a surge of devotees and showcased the special bond between Modi and Uttarakhand.
Dhami highlighted the significant investment of 4200 crores in schemes for the temple area and the ongoing development plans for Jageshwar, which are expected to attract visitors from across the country throughout the year.
Critique of Congress and Focus on Governance
In contrast to the accolades for the current government’s achievements, Dhami criticized the Congress party for its alleged legacy of corruption, appeasement, and nepotism. He accused the Congress of prioritizing self-interest and family welfare over the well-being of the people. Dhami pointed to the frequent scandals that surfaced during the Congress coalition government’s tenure before 2014, emphasizing a need for transparent and accountable governance.
Chief Minister Dhami’s address highlighted both the accomplishments of the current government and its vision for the future, while also offering a critique of the opposition’s track record.
