EAM S Jaishankar has condemned the recent deaths of Indian students in the US attributing their unfortunate circumstances to various factors. At least 10 cases of deaths involving Indian or Indian-origin students in the US have been reported since January this year.
During an interaction with students in Pune at the launch of the Marathi translation of his book, “Why Bharat Matters” Jaishankar also lauded the “East-West Center’s” role in bolstering ties between the US, Asia, and the Pacific islands
He further asserted that the incidents involving Indian nationals or persons of Indian descent in the US have been concerning, yet, not politically driven for which the investigation is underway.
The government has stepped up student outreach in the US to guide and reassure Indian and Indian-origin students following the deaths of some students in recent times, says the Ministry of External Affairs.
Highlighting the ties shared between India and the US, Jaishankar said, “Whoever becomes the President of America will maintain good relations with India, as America will always seek a partnership with PM Modi”
S Jaishankar emphasized the enduring alliance between the US and India, affirming that any US president would seek a strong partnership with PM Narendra Modi and that any US president would likely have positive relationships with India
