In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has revealed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) manifesto, titled ‘Modi’s Guarantee 2024’ or ‘Sankalp Patra’. This comprehensive document outlines the party’s commitments and plans for the nation, focusing on key areas such as women empowerment, youth upliftment, and support for the underprivileged.
The manifesto, referred to as ‘Sankalp Patra’, lays out a targeted approach called GYAN, which stands for schemes aimed at empowering the ‘Gareeb’ (poor), ‘Yuva’ (youth), ‘Annadaata’ (farmers), and ‘Nari’ (women). It aims to address the specific needs and challenges faced by these segments of society, with a vision to create a more inclusive and prosperous India.
Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of empowering the four pillars of a developed Bharat: youth, women, poor, and farmers. He highlighted the significance of initiatives outlined in the manifesto, which are designed to uplift and strengthen these crucial sectors of society.
Key promises outlined in the BJP’s manifesto include expanding the coverage of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana to include elder citizens aged above 70 and the transgender community. Additionally, the party pledges to continue providing free ration under the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for the next five years.
The manifesto also commits to building 3 crore houses and ensuring affordable pipeline gas availability for all households. It promises free electricity to poor households under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, aimed at improving living standards and enhancing access to basic amenities.
Among the significant proposals is the enforcement of the Uniform Civil Code and the concept of One Nation One Election, aiming to streamline legal frameworks and electoral processes across the country.
In a bid to promote financial independence among women, the manifesto vows to increase the number of women achieving financial prosperity, aiming to make 3 crore women ‘Lakhpati Didis’. Special provisions will also be made to prioritize housing for specially abled individuals under the PM Housing Scheme.
Healthcare services targeting prevalent diseases such as breast cancer, cervical cancer, anaemia, and osteoporosis will be expanded, with a particular focus on tackling cervical cancer effectively.
The manifesto also pledges to address issues of misconduct in recruitment examinations through the implementation of strict laws. Additionally, the BJP promises to increase Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for crops periodically and launch initiatives such as the Krishi Infrastructure Mission and the Bharat Krishi satellite to support agricultural development.
Furthermore, the BJP aims to propel Bharat to become the third-largest economic power globally, building on its current status as the fifth-largest economy. These ambitious goals reflect the party’s vision for a prosperous and globally competitive India.
