Prime Minister Narendra Modi graced the streets of Guwahati, Assam on Tuesday, igniting excitement among the masses in anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extended a warm welcome to PM Modi upon his arrival at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport. Sarma, expressing his reverence, greeted PM Modi with open arms, marking the occasion of the Prime Minister’s 27th visit to Assam.
With the Lok Sabha polls for 14 seats in Assam slated to commence in three phases starting April 19, the political landscape in the state is poised for a dramatic showdown. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), spearheaded by PM Modi, is set to contest in 11 out of the 14 seats, with its allies Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and UPPL vying for two and one seat respectively.
Reflecting on past electoral performances, the BJP has steadily strengthened its foothold in Assam, securing 7 seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and subsequently increasing its tally to 9 seats in 2019.
Conversely, the Congress and the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) have maintained a steady presence, each claiming three seats in the previous elections.
