This visit comes in the wake of discussions between Bharat and Ukraine on regional and global matters, including the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Last month, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba visited New Delhi, where he held discussions with Bharatiya officials.
During his visit, Minister Kuleba met with Bharatiya External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Deputy National Security Adviser Vikram Misri. The discussions centered and talked around achieving a peaceful settlement to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and strengthening bilateral relations between Bharat and Ukraine.
Particularly noteworthy was the focus on fostering constructive dialogue and cooperation in various sectors such as trade and investment, science and technology, defense, agriculture, health, culture, and education.
Both ministers also deliberated on matters related to the Bharat-Ukraine Inter-Governmental Commission, aiming to enhance cooperation in trade, economics, science, technology, industry, and culture. It was agreed to work towards convening the seventh Inter-Governmental Commission meeting later this year, signaling a commitment to further deepen the ties between the two nations.
Ambassador Jain’s visit to Ivano-Frankivsk underscores Bharat’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with Ukraine, both at the governmental and societal levels. Through diplomatic engagements and cultural interactions, both countries seek to foster a more robust and enduring partnership for mutual benefit and regional stability.
