Recently in a roadshow held in Telangana’s Khammam, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lauded the efforts of the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for its pro-poor policies. Singh stated that over the last decade, approximately 25 crore people have been uplifted from poverty due to these initiatives.
Singh emphasized the government’s decision to ban Triple Talaq, stating that it reflects the BJP’s commitment to implementing a Uniform Civil Code in the country’s next term. He reiterated the party’s stand to support women from all communities, condemning any form of oppression or violence against them.
Addressing the crowd, Singh highlighted the historical context, noting that previous Prime Ministers had spoken about eradicating poverty, but it was under PM Modi’s leadership that significant strides were made. He underlined the BJP’s dedication to uplift women from all backgrounds and ensure their rights and safety.
Singh further defended the BJP’s stance on Triple Talaq, asserting that regardless of religious affiliation, the party stands firmly against any injustice towards women. He expressed the party’s commitment to implementing a Uniform Civil Code, emphasizing its importance in ensuring equal rights for all citizens.
Turning to Bharat’s economic progress, Singh remarked on the nation’s enhanced global stature over the past decade. He credited PM Modi’s leadership for Bharat’s rise to becoming the world’s fifth-largest economy, with projections indicating further growth to secure the third position by 2027.
The Defence Minister highlighted Bharat’s increasing influence on the international stage, noting that the country’s opinions are now given greater weight in global deliberations. He attributed this shift to PM Modi’s policies, which have propelled Bharat’s economic growth and strengthened its diplomatic presence worldwide.
Looking ahead to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Telangana, scheduled for May 13, Singh urged voters to consider the BJP’s track record of pro-poor policies and commitment to women’s rights. He underscored the party’s determination to continue its efforts to uplift marginalized communities and foster inclusive growth.
The general elections in Telangana come against the backdrop of recent assembly polls, where the Congress party secured victory under the leadership of Revanth Reddy, ending the nine-year rule of the Bharath Rashtra Samithi in the state. The BJP aims to build on its previous success, hoping to secure a stronger mandate in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
