Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing an election rally in Rajasthan’s Banswara, criticized the Congress party, suggesting that if they were to come into power, they might distribute the nation’s wealth among “intruders” and families with more children.
He referenced past statements where the Congress government allegedly prioritized Muslims for the nation’s wealth. Modi questioned whether hard-earned money should be given to infiltrators, echoing concerns about wealth distribution policies proposed by the opposition party.

Modi further scrutinized the Congress’s manifesto, claiming that it implied a plan to inventory and distribute the gold possessed by mothers and daughters.
He also emphasized a previous statement by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, where Singh reportedly stated that Muslims should have the first claim on resources. Modi characterized this mindset as “urban Naxal thinking” and warned that even the traditional mangal sutras worn by women could be at risk under such policies.

Modi Criticizes Congress for Fear-Mongering and Sending Non-local Leaders to Rajya Sabha
Additionally, Modi criticized the Congress for allegedly spreading fear among various social groups and misrepresenting constitutional matters during election campaigns. He accused the party of using Rajasthan as a platform to send leaders who couldn’t win elections to the Rajya Sabha, citing examples of non-local leaders being elected from the state.
Modi questioned the presence and contributions of these leaders in Rajasthan, emphasizing the need for elected representatives to have a genuine connection with the region they represent. He also highlighted the reduced electoral presence of the Congress, contrasting its current situation with its historical electoral success.
Campaign Focuses on Rajasthan’s Role in National Politics
Modi’s speeches come ahead of the second phase of general elections in Rajasthan, where 13 Lok Sabha seats are up for grabs. He praised the electorate for their patriotism and expressed confidence in their ability to make informed decisions.
Modi emphasized the importance of preventing a return to the political landscape of pre-2014, where, he claimed, the Congress government was weak and susceptible to manipulation.
Highlighting his government’s achievements, particularly in Rajasthan, Modi showcased initiatives aimed at providing housing to disadvantaged families. He emphasized the BJP’s commitment to development and compared it favorably to the Congress’s perceived shortcomings.
