As part of its ongoing global outreach program “KNOW BJP,” the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has welcomed a seven-member delegation of diplomats from various missions in Bharat to experience firsthand insights into the party’s election campaign for the Lok Sabha polls.
The delegation’s visit to Rajasthan’s Jodhpur, scheduled from April 22-24, aims to offer a comprehensive understanding of the BJP’s electoral strategies and activities, as stated in a press release issued by the party on Monday.
The “KNOW BJP” initiative was officially launched by BJP President JP Nadda on the occasion of the party’s 43rd foundation day. This program seeks to foster greater awareness and understanding of the BJP’s principles, policies, and electioneering methods among international diplomats and observers.
The delegation comprises diplomatic representatives from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Russian Federation, and Suriname. These diplomats will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the BJP’s election campaign amidst the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections, offering them unique insights into the democratic process in the world’s largest democracy.
This isn’t the first time such a diplomatic delegation has engaged with the BJP’s election campaigns. Previously, similar delegations have successfully experienced BJP’s campaigns during state elections in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat in late 2022, as well as in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in November 2023.
The positive reception and engagement from these earlier visits have prompted the BJP to extend invitations to diplomats for future election phases.
BJP’s Foreign Affairs Department has expressed its intention to continue hosting similar delegations during upcoming phases of the general elections, underscoring the party’s commitment to promoting transparency, inclusivity, and international engagement in its electoral processes.
Last month saw a visit from Tanzania’s ruling party Chama Cha Mapinduzi’s young delegation led by Emmanuel John Nchimbi.
Welcomed by BJP’s foreign affairs department’s in-charge Vijay Chauthaiwale, the Tanzanian delegation engaged in discussions aimed at understanding the working, concept, and features of the NaMo app as a communication tool utilized by the BJP during elections.
During their visit, the Tanzanian leaders had fruitful exchanges with members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and the party’s IT and social media cells.
These discussions centered around the communication strategies employed by the BJP during elections, providing the Tanzanian delegation with valuable insights into modern campaign tactics and technologies utilized by political parties in Bharat.
In a statement posted on X, BJP’s Foreign Affairs Department highlighted the significance of such exchanges in bolstering international understanding and cooperation.
The visit of Tanzania’s ruling party delegation underscores the mutual desire for enhanced engagement and knowledge-sharing between political entities across borders, contributing to a broader dialogue on democratic practices and electoral methodologies.
