Union Home Minister Amit Shah has firmly stated that the BJP-led government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi stands resolute in upholding the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and three other new criminal laws.

In response to remarks made by senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram regarding the repeal of these laws. According to Shah, if the INDIA alliance secures power after the Lok Sabha elections, the unwavering commitment of the BJP to protect the rights of persecuted communities and ensure Bharatiya citizenship for those in need.

Addressing Chidambaram’s assertion that the CAA would be repealed, Shah reiterated that such laws are integral to safeguarding the rights of oppressed Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Christian, Sikh, and Parsi communities from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.

He underscored the CAA’s alignment with the principles enshrined in the Constitution, dismissing any notion of its repeal. Shah emphasized that the BJP’s priority is to provide a safe haven for those facing religious persecution, emphasizing the inherent fairness of the CAA.

Furthermore, Shah condemned the Congress for its purported appeasement politics, accusing the party of neglecting the interests of persecuted minority communities in favor of securing votes.

He highlighted the Modi government’s efforts to modernize Bharat’s legal framework by repealing archaic laws and instilling a sense of nationality in the justice system. Shah criticized the Congress’s resistance to these progressive legal reforms, portraying it as a relic of a bygone era.

Asserting that the BJP remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering the common people and upholding constitutional values, Shah dismissed the Congress’s attempts to sow discord and confusion among the electorate.

He accused the Congress of being out of touch with the aspirations of the Bharatiya populace, suggesting that its desperation stems from a realization of its impending electoral defeat. Shah portrayed the BJP as the true guardian of Bharat’s democratic principles, contrasting it with what he perceives as the Congress’s regressive and divisive agenda.

Shah’s impassioned defense of the CAA and other legislative measures reflects the BJP’s unwavering resolve to protect the rights of persecuted communities and uphold the sanctity of Indian citizenship.

His criticism of the Congress underscores the ideological divide between the two parties, with Shah positioning the BJP as the vanguard of Bharat’s secular democracy.

As the political landscape evolves, Shah’s words resonate with BJP supporters who view the party as the embodiment of progressive change and national pride.
