During an election rally in Nagaon’s Juria, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Pradyut Bordoloi, labelling him a ‘Suitcase MP’ who only shows up during election seasons. The CM accused Bordoloi of visiting Nagaon sporadically, arriving with a suitcase and leaving with the same, without any substantial contribution to the region.
CM Himnata criticised Bordoloi’s demeanor, suggesting that the Congress leader appears detached from the people of Assam, resembling more of an ‘Englishman’. He further alleged that Bordoloi avoids interaction with the less privileged, implying a disconnect between the politician and the grassroots.
The CM stressed on the importance of securing victory for the ruling party’s candidate, Suresh Borah. He contrasted the BJP’s anti-corruption stance with allegations of malpractice during the Congress regime, signaling a shift towards transparency and accountability in governance.
Dr Himanta’s speech also included policy announcements, such as the elimination of fees for Panchayat geo-tagging under the current administration, showcasing the BJP’s commitment to reforming bureaucratic processes and promoting grassroots development initiatives.
