World Malaria Day, observed annually on April 25, serves as a platform to raise awareness about the severity of malaria and to acknowledge global efforts in its control. The initiative originated from Africa Malaria Day and was officially recognized by the World Health Organization in 2007 during the 60th session of the World Health Assembly. The transition to World Malaria Day aimed to spotlight malaria’s presence worldwide and mobilize global action against it. Since then, April 25 has been dedicated to fostering awareness and advocacy to combat malaria on a global scale.
