Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a rally in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, criticized the alliance between Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, accusing them of indulging in what he termed as “politics of appeasement.” He specifically targeted the Congress party, alleging that they were engaging in divisive tactics by favoring certain religious groups over others.
In his rally speech, PM Modi claimed that the Congress was infringing upon the rights of the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) by allegedly misappropriating their quota and offering reservations based on religious affiliations.
He referred to the alliance between Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav as a friendship based on the politics of appeasement, emphasizing that such tactics only served to divide the nation further.
The Prime Minister went on to assert that the policy of appeasement had detrimental effects on the country, accusing the Congress party of mirroring the strategies of the Muslim League in its manifesto. He vowed to shift away from appeasement politics and focus on satisfying the needs of all citizens.
PM Modi emphasized his government’s commitment to development for all segments of society, contrasting it with what he perceived as the opposition’s focus on catering to a specific vote bank.
He stressed the importance of ensuring that welfare schemes reach everyone without the interference of middlemen or corruption, outlining the BJP’s vision of a saturation model where benefits are accessible to all deserving individuals.
In addition, the Election Commission has called for high standards of political discourse from all star campaigners, urging them to refrain from making inflammatory remarks that could potentially violate the model code of conduct.
A notice has also been issued to Mallikarjun Kharge regarding controversial remarks made by Rahul Gandhi, signaling the Election Commission’s commitment to maintaining fairness and integrity in the electoral process.
