Leaders and experts from diverse backgrounds, including Bharatiya Diaspora, business leaders, and international experts, gathered at Stanford University, USA, to commend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in positioning Bharat as a global hub for Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The “Indiaspora AI Summit” saw notable attendees such as Eric Garcetti, the US Ambassador to India, and Satnam Singh Sandhu, a Member of Parliament & Chancellor of Chandigarh University.
At the summit, participants highlighted PM Modi’s strategic vision of leveraging AI to shape Bharat’s future, aiming for a developed Bharat by 2047.
They emphasized Modi’s understanding of AI’s transformative power and its potential for social development across sectors like agriculture, healthcare, and education.
A research paper presented at the summit scrutinized the methodology and biases in global business indexes, particularly criticizing Bharat’s ranking in the Ease of Doing Business Index by Western agencies.
The paper highlighted discrepancies between Bharat’s performance in various parameters and its lower ranking compared to countries with lesser infrastructure and policies.
Bob Sidhu, Chief Global Services at Iron Systems, pointed out flaws in the Ease of Doing Business Index, citing instances where Bharat excelled in specific areas but received lower rankings overall.
He emphasized Bharat’s initiatives to improve the business environment, including reforms in electricity connection, investor protection, and tax payments.
Tejas Dhami, a Stanford graduate and research fellow, echoed concerns about data irregularities and manipulations affecting Bharat’s rankings in global indexes. He urged for a revision of these indexes to accurately reflect Bharat’s strengths and performance.
MP Satnam Singh Sandhu highlighted PM Modi’s focus on technology and AI for Bharat’s progress, citing the country’s significant economic growth and poverty reduction under his leadership.
Various Bharatiya-origin leaders in Silicon Valley praised PM Modi for Bharat’s transformation into a global AI hub. They commended his initiatives in fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation, leading to Bharat’s recognition as a Startup Nation.
Leaders like Amit Walia of Informatica and Priya Ramachandran of Foster Ventures expressed gratitude for PM Modi’s efforts in promoting Bharat’s global presence and empowering diverse sectors. They emphasized the positive impact of Modi’s policies on women, equity, and collaboration.
The Indian Diaspora in the USA lauded PM Modi for creating a business-friendly environment, leading to the emergence of numerous startups and unicorns in Bharat. They credited Modi’s leadership for fostering innovation, growth, and prosperity.
