Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a whirlwind tour of the North Karnataka region, addressing four rallies in Belagavi, Uttara Kannada, Davanagere, and Ballari on Sunday. According to V Sunil Kumar, the coordinator of the BJP’s election management committee in Karnataka, PM Modi’s schedule will commence with a public meeting in Belagavi at 10 am. Following this, he will proceed to Sirsi in Uttara Kannada for another rally at 12 noon. Subsequently, PM Modi will visit Davanagere for an election rally at 2 pm, and later, he will address a public gathering in Ballari at 4 pm.
During his rally in Belagavi, PM Modi launched scathing attacks on the Congress party, accusing it of aligning with those who laud Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. He alleged that the Congress aims to usurp people’s wealth and distribute it among its vote bank. Furthermore, PM Modi took a swipe at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, condemning his remarks about Indian kings and historical figures such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Rani Chinamma. He accused the Congress of selective historical narrative to appease its vote bank, while ignoring the atrocities committed by other historical figures.
PM Modi also addressed the tragic murder of MCA student Neha Hiremath in Karnataka, criticizing the Congress for allegedly prioritizing appeasement over justice. He lamented that the Congress does not value the lives of daughters like Neha, focusing solely on electoral gains.
Moreover, PM Modi accused the Congress of conspiring to undermine India’s democracy and straying from national interests to serve the agenda of a particular family. He highlighted the amendments made by his government to India’s criminal justice system, emphasizing the removal of colonial-era laws and the prioritization of justice over punishment. PM Modi also mentioned the strengthening of laws related to terrorism and the incorporation of new provisions for electronic evidence under the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, which is set to be implemented on July 1.
PM Modi’s rallies come ahead of the third phase of Lok Sabha polls scheduled for May 7, intensifying the political discourse in Karnataka.
