Recently in a statement, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda highlighted what he termed as a “deep depression” within the Congress party. Nadda attributed this to the overwhelming support observed for the BJP in the initial phases of the Lok Sabha elections.
According to him, the people’s support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi shows a clear preference for the BJP’s leadership and vision for the country. Nadda made these remarks while speaking to ANI in Shivamogga.
Nadda expressed confidence in the BJP’s prospects in the ongoing polls, stating that they are aiming to secure over 400 seats under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.

He emphasized that the public’s trust in Modi’s governance is evident in the BJP’s growing popularity across the country.
The BJP president criticized the Congress for its alleged manifesto promise of redistributing wealth to minorities upon coming to power. He argued that such a move goes against the principles laid out by the Constitution’s founder, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, who advocated against religious-based reservations.

Nadda further accused the Congress of engaging in divisive politics and practicing appeasement towards Muslim minorities while neglecting their actual welfare. He also asserted that the Congress’s focus on appeasement politics and divisive tactics undermines the inclusive development of the country.
Shivamogga, where Nadda made these remarks, is set to hold elections on May 7. The constituency will witness a contest between BJP’s BY Raghavendra, son of former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, and Congress’ Geetha Shivarajkumar.
