President Droupadi Murmu is set to visit Ayodhya on Wednesday, as announced by the Rashtrapati Bhavan in a press release.
During her visit, President Murmu plans to offer prayers at the newly inaugurated Ram Mandir, marking her first visit to the iconic temple dedicated to Lord Ram in the Uttar Pradesh town.
The schedule for the President’s visit includes visits to several prominent religious sites in Ayodhya. Alongside offering prayers at the Ram Mandir, President Murmu will also make darshan and aarti at the Shri Hanuman Garhi Temple, Prabhu Shri Ram Temple, and Kuber Teela.
In addition, she will participate in the Saryu pujan and aarti rituals, enhancing the spiritual significance of her visit.
The inauguration of the Ram Mandir took place on January 22, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the Vedic rituals during the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.
Notably, President Murmu’s absence from the guest list at the inauguration event sparked controversy, with opposition parties accusing the government of neglecting her due to her tribal background.
Opposition leaders, who were also absent from the inauguration ceremony, criticized the event for allegedly being politically motivated and controlled by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its ideological mentor, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
They highlighted concerns raised by some seers regarding the timing of the temple’s opening amidst ongoing construction activities.
The architectural grandeur of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir is remarkable, reflecting traditional Nagara style. Spanning 380 feet in length, 250 feet in width, and 161 feet in height, the temple stands as a symbol of Hindu faith and devotion.
Its construction includes 392 pillars and 44 doors, adorned with intricate sculptures depicting Hindu deities and mythological narratives.
The main sanctum sanctorum of the temple houses the idol of the childhood form of Lord Ram, inviting devotees to experience divine blessings and spiritual solace. Since its opening to the public on January 23, the temple has witnessed a steady influx of devotees from various parts of the country, reflecting the enduring significance of Ayodhya as a sacred pilgrimage site.
President Droupadi Murmu’s forthcoming visit to the Ram Mandir not only underscores the importance of religious harmony and inclusivity but also highlights the cultural richness and spiritual heritage of Bharat.
As she prepares to embark on this historic journey, her presence signifies a gesture of reverence and respect towards the enduring legacy of Lord Ram and the sacred city of Ayodhya.
