To provide Nepalese readers with insights into Bharat’s global engagements, authors Bhupendra Bahadur Chhetri and Sagar Chand have unveiled a new book titled “Bishwo Manch ma Narendra Modi,” translating to “Narendra Modi in the World Stage.”
The book was introduced during a ceremony in Kathmandu, aiming to shed light on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speeches in various countries and international forums from 2014 to 2024.
Compilation of Modi’s International Speeches
The book meticulously compiles speeches delivered by PM Modi during his international engagements spanning from 2014 to early 2024. Chhetri compiled Modi’s speeches, while Chand skillfully translated them into Nepali language.
The compilation offers a glimpse into Bharat’s diplomatic approach and global perspectives, covering significant moments in Bharat’s foreign policy under Modi’s leadership.
Significance and Relevance
Co-author Sagar Chand emphasized the significance of the book, stating that it’s essential not only for Nepali readers but also for politicians, journalists covering diplomacy, and individuals interested in global affairs.
Chand highlighted Modi’s “Neighbour First” policy and its relevance to Nepal’s diplomatic landscape, underscoring how Bharat’s engagements in international forums impact neighboring countries like Nepal.
Bharat’s Global Presence
The book features 29 speeches by PM Modi, translated into Nepali, aiming to inform readers about India’s role on the global platform.
Chand emphasized the transformative impact of PM Modi’s leadership on Bharat’s global stature, making each translated speech a crucial read for understanding Bharat’s position in the world.
Bharat’s Economic Contribution
In a related context, a January 2024 report by the World Economic Forum highlighted Bharat’s significant contribution of 16 per cent to global development in 2023. The report also noted Bharat’s robust economic growth, reaching 7.2 per cent during the 2022-2023 period, consistently positioning it among the top nations within the G20.
Book Details and Modi’s Visits to Nepal
Published by Indigo Ink, the book is priced at NRS 549 (Rs 343) and provides invaluable insights into PM Modi’s engagements on the world platform. PM Modi has made four visits to Nepal, including his attendance at the SAARC meeting.
His visits, starting from August 2014 to the most recent one in May 2022, have underlined the significance of Bharat-Nepal relations, with Modi extensively traveling across Nepal during these visits.
