In a public gathering held in Agra, Union Defence Minister and BJP candidate from Lucknow Lok Sabha constituency, Rajnath Singh, hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s contributions to Bharat’s financial and economic success and improvement.
Singh asserted that Modi’s efforts have elevated Bharat’s stature globally, emphasizing that under PM Modi’s leadership, Bharat’s voice commands greater attention on the global stage.
Singh also recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s post-Independence vision, stating that Gandhi had advocated for the dissolution of the Congress party after Bharat gained independence in 1947.
Gandhi’s vision, according to Singh, was for Congress to transition into a social service organization rather than persist as a political entity. However, Singh lamented that Congress did not heed Gandhi’s advice, opting to remain in power instead.
Taking a dig at Congress, Singh lauded the public for fulfilling Gandhi’s wish by gradually sidelining the party. He credited the public for gradually diminishing the influence of Congress, echoing Gandhi’s desire for its dissolution.
Moving on, Singh highlighted Gandhi’s second wish to destroy poverty in Bharat. He criticized successive Congress-led governments for failing to significantly reduce poverty despite making repeated promises to do so over the years.
Singh contrasted this with Modi’s achievements, citing reports from leading economists and international bodies which lauded Modi’s efforts in lifting millions out of poverty during his tenure.
Singh also paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, praising his leadership and contributions to Bharat’s infrastructure development. Singh credited Vajpayee for laying the groundwork for Bharat’s expansive road network and acknowledged Modi’s continuation of Vajpayee’s vision.
Reflecting on his own experiences, Singh noted the transformation in Bharat’s global standing, attributing it to Modi’s assertive diplomacy. He emphasized that Bharat’s voice is now heard and respected on the global stage, marking an important departure from the past perception of Bharat as a weak country.
Overall, Singh’s address underscored Modi’s achievements, Gandhi’s visionary ideals, the diminishing influence of Congress, and Bharat’s rising noticeable in international affairs under Modi’s leadership.
