In a post, Khera asserted, “Kaka’s fascination for ‘Dushil’ is more important than a woman’s honor. But, I am a girl, I am fighting. Didi is welcome in the maternal home of Lord Shri Ram’s mother Kausalya.”

She moreover claimed that the safety of women was compromised even in the revered land associated with Mother Kausalya’s maternal home. Her posts highlighted the issue of patriarchy and vowed to expose the mistreatment faced by women.

The controversy surrounding Khera escalated when a video of her in tears went viral. In the video, she can be heard expressing anguish over being insulted, marking the first such incident in her 40 years of life.
Khera described a heated confrontation where she was subjected to yelling and asked to leave the premises, leading her to question her allegiance to the party.
The genesis of this conflict is believed to trace back to a visit by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to Janjgir Champa district for election campaigning. A verbal altercation ensued between Congress leaders Sushil Anand Shukla and Radhika Khera regarding a media statement following a rally.
The disagreement reportedly led to Khera’s expulsion from the Congress Bhavan, culminating in her emotional outburst captured in the viral video.
Amid the turmoil, Kedar Gupta of the BJP extended support to Khera, urging her to consider joining their party. Gupta emphasized the importance of respecting women’s dignity, particularly in the land associated with Kausalya Maa. Meanwhile, BJP MLA Bhavan Bohra echoed similar sentiments, assuring Khera of solidarity and support.
