Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing it of dividing society along caste lines and pandering to vote banks through appeasement tactics.
In an interview with TV9 Bharatvarsh, PM Modi alleged that Rahul Gandhi, the leader of Congress, struck a deal in Kerala’s Wayanad constituency promising Muslim reservations in exchange for votes.
PM Modi also rebuffed allegations from the Congress regarding the BJP’s intentions to alter the constitution if elected to power. He contended that it is the Congress party that has historically exploited the constitution for political gains and vote bank politics.
Reflecting on the evolution of political campaigning, PM Modi noted the shift from mere expectations in 2014 to a solid trust in 2019, which has now transformed into a ‘guarantee’ owing to his administration’s performance and hard work.
Critique of Congress Manifesto and Vision for West Bengal
Further criticizing the Congress party, PM Modi likened their manifesto to that of the Muslim League, claiming that it aims to sow divisions in society based on caste and to consolidate its vote bank through appeasement policies. He accused the Congress of attempting to reallocate benefits meant for SCs, STs, and OBCs to Muslims.
Turning his attention to West Bengal, PM Modi outlined his vision for the state’s development, emphasizing its crucial role in advancing the nation.
He criticized the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government for allegedly neglecting the cultural heritage of West Bengal and failing to address the concerns of women.
In a bid to counter the TMC’s governance, PM Modi highlighted the BJP’s decision to nominate ordinary citizens like Rekha Patra, symbolizing the party’s commitment to empowering women and amplifying their voices in politics.
