During a rally in Dhubri, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma levelled strong accusations against the Congress and the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), alleging that they had deceived voters with falsehoods.
CM Himanta rebuked the Opposition for instilling fear among the Muslim community, citing past warnings that mosques would be shuttered and religious practices like Namaz and Ramadan would be prohibited under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration.
Contrary to these assertions, the CM highlighted the decade-long tenure of the Modi Government without any such restrictions and noted a decline in communal conflicts during this period.
Recalling the past, CM Himanta depicted the Congress era as rife with violence and chaos, characterised by “Guns, Bullets, Bomb Blasts, picketing, and Assam Bandhs.” He asserted that his government has quashed these societal upheavals.
Regarding unemployment, the Chief Minister announced the provision of one lakh government jobs to youths without any corruption or middlemen, pledging an additional 50,000 positions within six months. He outlined a new rule wherein job candidates with no family members in government employment would receive an additional 10 points.
CM Himanta touted various welfare schemes introduced by the BJP-led Central and State governments, while directly criticising his opponents, Congress candidate Rakibul Hussain and AIUDF candidate Badruddin Ajmal, accusing them of mere theatrics for the people of Dhubri.
Encouraging residents not to lag behind in the nation’s progress, the Assam CM urged active participation in the development narrative crafted by the NDA, expressing confidence in its formation of the next Central Government. The Chief Minister’s speech accentuated themes of development and progress, calling upon the people of Dhubri to join in shaping a brighter future.
