Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party’s track record on national security, branding its past governance as “cowardly” for its perceived weak response to terrorist attacks on global platforms. Speaking at a rally in Jharkhand’s Palamu, PM Modi asserted a shift in dynamics under BJP rule, claiming Pakistan now seeks assistance after facing the brunt of India’s strength.
“Previously, it was the Congress government that would lament on global platforms following terrorist incidents. That era of India seeking sympathy abroad is over. Today, it’s Pakistan that’s in distress, seeking aid,” PM Modi stated emphatically. He criticized the previous UPA government for its futile attempts at diplomacy with Pakistan, alleging that efforts for peace were met with further infiltration of terrorists. “Today’s India doesn’t give dossiers. This is New India, ‘ghar mein ghus ke maarta hai’, he said.
In a pointed reference to Rahul Gandhi, PM Modi insinuated that Pakistani leaders, unnerved by India’s surgical strikes, hoped for Rahul Gandhi’ ascension to the Prime Minister’s post. “However, a resolute India demands a robust leadership,” he affirmed.
PM Modi’s remarks come in the wake of a video featuring Rahul Gandhi being shared by a former minister in Imran Khan’s Cabinet, eliciting praise for the Congress leader.
Turning his attention to the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-Congress alliance, PM Modi accused its leaders of amassing wealth for their progeny through corruption. He contrasted his own modest lifestyle, asserting an unblemished record devoid of corruption during his tenure as chief minister and prime minister.
This rally follows PM Modi’s recent address in Gujarat, where he reiterated the BJP’s firm stance on national security, contrasting it with the purported weakness of previous administrations. Emphasizing a proactive approach against terrorism, PM Modi declared that New India doesn’t merely submit dossiers but administers decisive actions against terrorists.
