On Saturday, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court remanded accused lawyer Vinod Chauhan to three days of ED custody in connection with the Delhi liquor scam case. Chauhan was arrested on May 3 and presented before Special Judge Kaveri Baweja today. During the hearing, ED sought four-day custody for Chauhan, alleging he received money-filled bags from Ashok Kaushik, the private secretary of a poet, and laundered funds to the Aam Aadmi Party for the Goa elections. ED seized ₹1.06 crores from Chauhan, claiming it originated from the Delhi liquor scam. After hearing ED’s arguments, Special Judge Baweja ordered Chauhan to three days of ED custody, marking the 18th arrest in the case.
