Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath sparked controversy on Monday with his statement accusing the Congress, the Samajwadi Party (SP), and the INDI Alliance of having “Ram Droh” (anti-Ram) traits ingrained in their DNA.
Yogi Adityanath’s remarks came in response to the resignation of Congress leader Radhika Khera from her party. He claimed that Khera was insulted by the Congress leadership for visiting Lord Ram’s temple in Ayodhya, seeking blessings.
According to Yogi Adityanath, Khera’s resignation stemmed from being mistreated by the Congress after she visited the Ram Temple and displayed a Jai Shri Ram flag at her doorstep. He alleged that the Congress party started to resent her after this act.
Radhika Khera herself asserted that the Congress party harbors animosity towards Lord Ram and the Sanatan Dharma. She cited being scolded by party leaders for her visit to Ayodhya during ongoing elections as one of the reasons for her resignation.
Moreover, Khera lamented that neither Priyanka Gandhi Vadra nor Rahul Gandhi addressed her concerns despite her attempts to meet them over the span of three years. This dissatisfaction with the party leadership fueled her decision to resign.
Yogi Adityanath, who is known as a prominent campaigner for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), emphasized that the Bharatiya citizens would not support those deemed as “Ram Drohi” (anti-Ram). He claimed that the Congress’ actions were a facade aimed at deceiving the people but ultimately leading the party towards irrelevance.
The UP Chief Minister has been vocal in his criticism of the Congress, alleging that the party aims to impose Sharia law in the country and permit cow slaughter for minorities. These remarks reflect the escalating political tensions in the run-up to crucial elections.
