Recently, former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam expressed that Rahul Gandhi, in a closed-door meeting with his close aides, stated that the Congress party would overturn the Supreme Court’s verdict on the Ramjanmbhoomi case once they came into power.
Acharya Pramod Krishnam, who spent over three decades in the Congress, cited Gandhi’s intention to form a commission to reverse the decision, drawing parallels with Rajiv Gandhi’s actions regarding the Shah Bano case. His statement comes amidst growing discontent within the party over its handling of the Ram Mandir issue.

Acharya Pramod Krishnam’s criticism of the Congress stems from its failure to attend the Shri Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony earlier this year.
In February, he was expelled from the party due to indiscipline and repeated criticisms against its leadership. His remarks highlighted the internal strife within the Congress regarding its stance on the Ram Mandir issue, with several former members voicing their dissatisfaction.
Radhika Khera, another former Congress leader, resigned from the party citing mistreatment and lack of support after she visited the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. In her resignation letter to the All India Congress Committee, she highlighted the significance of Lord Shri Ram’s birthplace for Hindus and criticized the opposition faced by those supporting it.
Her departure adds to the growing list of former Congress members disenchanted with the party’s handling of religious issues.
Gourav Vallabh’s resignation from the Congress further underscores the discontent within the party. He criticized the party’s decision to skip the Ram Mandir event, labeling it a “sin” and questioning its stance on Sanatana values.
Vallabh’s departure, coupled with his subsequent joining of the BJP, reflects the widening ideological divide within the Congress and its implications for the party’s future direction.
