The directive came in response to a recent bomb threat emails received by over 200 schools in Delhi-NCR, which led to widespread evacuations and searches as concerned parents hurried to retrieve their children.
Law enforcement agencies, including PCR vehicles, district police, and various other response units, were promptly mobilized to investigate the threats. Despite extensive searches, no evidence of explosives was found, prompting authorities to declare the threats as hoaxes.
The emails were traced back to a user utilizing a virtual private network (VPN), which routed the data through foreign servers, with a Russian-based mailing service being identified as the source.
Similar hoax bomb threat emails were reported in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, with at least 16 schools receiving such messages. Initial investigations suggest a resemblance to the pattern observed in the Delhi incidents, with indications pointing to a potential origin in Russia.
