The agenda includes a range of topics, from existing bilateral cooperation to development and defense collaboration, underscoring the comprehensive nature of the discussions.
Recently, both countries convened the fourth meeting of the bilateral High-Level Core Group on May 3, wherein they reviewed the timeline for the replacement of Indian military personnel from the Maldives. Noting, the Maldivian government’s formal request for the withdrawal of Bharatiya troops from Male has been a focal point of discussions.
The collaborative efforts between Bharat and Maldives have yielded progress, as affirmed by the Maldives foreign ministry. A press release emphasized the satisfactory growth in logistical arrangements for the replacement of military personnel, with a commitment to meet the May 10 deadline.
Moreover, the upcoming fifth meeting of the High-Level Core Group, slated for June/July in Male, underscores the ongoing dialogue aimed at addressing mutual concerns and strengthening bilateral ties. This sustained engagement reflects a commitment to resolving issues through diplomatic channels.

Both countries have taken significant steps towards operationalizing mutually agreeable solutions to facilitate the continued operation of Indian aviation platforms in the Maldives.
