Meanwhile, in a speech delivered at a rally in Warangal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned remarks made by Congress leader Sam Pitroda concerning skin colour. Modi asserted that such derogatory comments are intolerable in Bharat, emphasizing that every citizen deserves respect regardless of their skin colour.
Modi directly addressed Rahul Gandhi, asserting that the nation demands answers from him regarding the disrespectful remarks made by Pitroda. He questioned the Congress party’s stance on President Droupadi Murmu, insinuating that their opposition was based on her skin colour rather than her capabilities.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was one of the first to react when he took to X and slammed Pitroda over his remarks and said, “Sam bhai, I am from the North East and I look like an Indian. We are a diverse country – we may look different but we are all one. Understand a little about our country!” BJP candidate from Thiruvananthapuram and Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar termed Pitroda’s remark as “Shameless”.
