Prime Minister Narendra Modi said about the report on the decline of Hindu population and the increase in minority share and said that the wrong narrative has been exposed.
PM Modi said, ‘Between 1950 and 2015, the share of Hindus dipped by 7.82 %, while that of Muslims increased by 43%. Hindu civilisation is all accommodating, there is no point spreading false narratives anymore. Those creating narratives of minority under threat must look into the report and come out of their false perception’.
He added that Bharat believes in the philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’- the earth is one family. PM Modi said, ‘We never took even an inch of anyone’s land. All the false allegations have been busted after the release of the report’.
He further said that the decline of the Hindu population must not the concern limited to Bharat. ‘A great culture which is all-inclusive, which can somehow keep the world in balance in the future, which is no one’s enemy, will not be able to influence if its share declines. Today the world should be concerned about how the Hindu population will increase’.
Bharat has seen a significant decline in its majority religious population over the years, according to a recent analysis by the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM). The study, authored by EAC-PM members Shamika Ravi, Apurv Kumar Mishra, and Abraham Jose, reveals a notable 7.82% decrease in the majority population between 1950 and 2015.
This decline, second only to Myanmar’s 10% reduction, among 167 countries analyzed, has sparked discussions about the changing religious landscape in Bharat.
