During an election rally in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the Opposition INDIA bloc for their recent remarks regarding Pakistan’s possession of atomic bombs.
Shah specifically mentioned statements made by Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar and Jammu and Kashmir National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah.
During his address, Shah referred to a viral video featuring Mani Shankar Aiyar, where Aiyar suggests that Bharat should respect Pakistan as a sovereign country due to its possession of nuclear weapons. He implied that Aiyar’s remarks were concerning, as they suggested a need for caution in dealing with Pakistan, given its nuclear capabilities.

In addition, Shah shed light on the comments made by Farooq Abdullah, who warned against rash actions in relation to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK), citing Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal as a deterrent against aggression.
The Congress party distanced itself from Aiyar’s remarks, stating that the video was from several months ago. However, Shah’s criticism underscores the ongoing debate surrounding Bharat’s approach to Pakistan and the contentious issue of Kashmir.
Amit Shah Asserts Bharat’s Sovereignty Over Pakistan-occupied Kashmir
Amit Shah reiterated the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) stance on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, asserting that it rightfully belongs to Bharat and that the BJP is committed to reclaiming it, in his speech. He emphasized that Bharat will not be intimidated by Pakistan’s nuclear weapons and will pursue its claim over POK.
Shah’s remarks come amidst heightened tensions between Bharat and Pakistan, particularly regarding the status of Kashmir. The BJP’s strong stance on the issue reflects its nationalist agenda and commitment to asserting Bharat’s territorial integrity.

Appeal for Support in Upcoming Elections
Amit Shah used the rally as an opportunity to garner support for the BJP candidate from Kaushambi Lok Sabha seat, Vinod Kumar Sonkar. He urged the electorate to ensure a ‘hat trick’ of victories for the BJP, including re-electing Narendra Modi as Prime Minister for the third consecutive term.
Shah also called for the complete defeat of rival parties such as the Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and Congress in Uttar Pradesh, highlighting the BJP’s dominance in the state.
The upcoming elections in Kaushambi Lok Sabha seat, scheduled for May 20, will be a crucial battleground in determining the political landscape of Uttar Pradesh.
Amit Shah’s remarks at the election rally in Pratapgarh underscore the BJP’s firm stance on national security issues, particularly in relation to Pakistan and Kashmir. His criticism of the Opposition’s remarks regarding Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal reflects the ongoing debate surrounding Bharat’s foreign policy approach.
With the elections looming, Shah’s appeal for support underscores the BJP’s determination to secure victory in Uttar Pradesh and maintain its hold on power at the national level.
