The fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 is set to unfold on Monday, May 13, encompassing 96 seats across 10 states and union territories.
This phase will witness active voter participation from various regions, including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Jammu and Kashmir.
Key Constituencies and Contestants
In West Bengal’s Baharampur, a contest ensues between the Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Trinamool Congress (TMC). BJP’s candidate Nirmal Kumar Saha and former Bharatiya cricketer Yusuf Pathan challenges the incumbent Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury of the Congress.
Hyderabad, Telangana, witnesses a significant showdown as Bharatiya Janata Party’s Madhavi Latha contests against sitting MP Asaduddin Owaisi from All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), emphasizing political representation and minority rights.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra faces BJP’s Amrita Roy in Krishnanagar, West Bengal. Mahua Moitra, recently expelled from the Lok Sabha, Amrita Roy a tough challenge in this election for Mahua Moitra.
In Begusarai, Bihar, BJP’s Giriraj Singh competes against CPI candidate Awadhesh Rai. Giriraj Singh secured victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections against CPI’s Kanhaiya Kumar.
Janata Dal (United) leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh) faces RJD leader Anita Devi in Munger, Bihar. Lalan Singh emerged victorious in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections with a significant margin.
The contest in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, features National Conference’s Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi against PDP’s Waheed Parra, with Mohammad Ashraf Mir from the Apni Party also in the fray.
